Our Mission
The Office of the General Registrar and Electoral Board of Charles City County strives to promote the highest level of service to the citizens of the Commonwealth by providing equitable opportunities to register and vote; and by maintaining accurate records relating to voter registration, elections, election officials, and candidates. We are committed to promoting democracy and public trust in our endeavors to ensure fair and impartial elections.

The Sample Ballots
Upcoming Election Information
The Voter Registration Office will provide drop off ballot service starting April 23, 2021, for voters who do not want to mail their ballot. Use the back parking lot of the Administration Building and call us when you arrive. We will come out to collect your marked ballot.

Mailing Your Vote
Notice to voters using US mail service, the USPS delivery standards changed earlier this year. The First Class delivery went from one to three days to two to five days and Standard delivery is now two to nine days.
No Excuse Absentee Voting
Beginning July 1, 2020, any registered voter can vote absentee without having to provide any reason or supporting information!
In these uncertain times, one thing is still certain, The Office of Voter Registrations commitment to continue to provide premier services to the citizens of Charles City County.
Due to the Covid-19 outbreak, the Virginia Department of Elections as well as the Charles City County Office of Voter Registration encourages all voters to protect their health and the health of others by voting from home.
We also offer Curbside Voting for anyone at the Office of Voter Registration starting Friday, April 23, through Saturday, June 5, 2021.
Every voter that votes absentee by mail is one less voter in line on Election Day, limiting the risk of spreading the virus within the community and protecting those that serve as Officer of Elections at the polls.
Ballots for June 8, 2021 Primary Election will be available Friday, April 23, 2021, but you can request them right now! The last day to request an Absentee Ballot to be sent to you by mail, is Friday, May 28, 2021.
